I think wearing make-up is nice, but I feel fake. Like that's not the real me...

I felt the same way when I started using makeup. Now I feel that there's nothing fake about it. I have acne blotches that needs to be covered. Is there a beauty in that truth? Not according to society. I'm not wearing a mask, it's just the way my skin would look like on a nice day.
Maybe what you need is to find makeup that you like. Something that's light weight and natural. I use Clinique, try it. Acne prone people love it.

When you think about it, blush and lipstick, what's there to fake? You blush when you have blood rush to your cheeks and the same goes for your lips. It's normal. Drawn on eyebrows and thick eyeliner on the other hand... As long as you don't look any different or don't scare people when it's off then it's not fake.

No, it doesn't mean you are fake. Women (and men!) have used make up to enhance their appearance for thousands of years.
Modern foundations and face powders often help protect your skin, serving as a barrier between your skin and pollution, sun, etc.
If you like how it looks, but don't want to feel "fake", just use a little. Wearing a little make up can make you feel good, because you know that you look good.

I don't want to be harsh, and this is my own personal asthetic belief. I think that makeup takes away from a person. I have been told that it "enhances" looks, but what it is doing is CHANGING the way you look, and you are, on that level at least, not the same person. My girlfriend wears makeup, and I tell her that she shouldn't, because in reality makeup is shallow - a literal covering up of who you are. And makeup is exactly what it says it is-"make up"-fake. Not that you or anyone else is a fake person. I think makeup use has its roots in early childhood to pre-teenage years, and comes about only as a instrument of self-devaluation from girls in the social race through those years. So its not you thats fake, its your outlook on your image created in those years that is fake. Love your self for who you are, not for who others percieve you as.

Makeup should be used only to enhance your features not paint another new face. Like the pros always say, if you're unsure how to put makeup, Less is More. Always pick the foundation / powder color that is closest to you skin tone, test the color on how jawline.

For casual stroll on the mall I use powder but for formal settings of course I use foundation.. I hope I helped...

It doesn't mean you're fake. If you feel fake when wearing it, it just means that your style is more natural.
Some people feel more authentic when they are wearing makeup, just like wearing clothes in a certain style. It's just up to the individual.

I don't think so. It's not like you are undergoing some kind of surgery to change your entire face. It's only make up and it's there for a reason. If you have the chance to improve your face, which is number of people's best asset, then why not do it? Everybody wants to do as much as they possibly can do bring out their best features forward. I don't see anything wrong with that. However, if wearing make up doesn't make you feel good about yourself, then obviously you shouldn't. If you don't feel good about it, then don't wear it.

wearing makeup has nothing to do with being fake. Unless you're an actor and need it for your work.

Being fake comes from inside you. And it is probably why you feel this way because it makes you feel different from who you really are. You probably are a humble person, one who do not like to pretend. Probably a young girl who do not need it anyway.

No, wearing make-up doesn't make you fake....having surgery to look better makes you fake. But whatever make-up you use should be the kind you like best....and you should feel pretty with or with-out make-up on.

You must be happy about howyou look. If you like how you look without makeup you will not feel fake when you wear it

Just because you wear make-up doesnt mean your fake. It just depends on how much you apply on your face. If you put too much of one thing than thats when it's obvious. Too much powder...it'll show...then you can tell yourself you look fake.
