depends what kind it is. But I would say if it's just the simple brush type then soak it in vinegar and amonia and that will disolve all kinds of crud. I saw that tip on "How clean is your house" They soaked a shower head in the solution. I tried it with mine and it does work. So I would assume it will work for your pool vac too.
