I remember parts of this movie but have never seen it again. It had a hero, like sinbad or something who had a ship and ghosts flew in and out of it. And there was an evil sorcerer or something and his henchman who walked down a red brick lined spiral staircase into hell, I suppose, and came back up to do their evil deeds. I have never seen it since, and wonder if anyone knows what it might be. This would be from the early 60's.

Jack the Giant Killer had a sorcerer in it... and was similar to Sinbad... Jack has to go down a gauntlet of arems holding torches theat turn to swords and try to kill him. That is the only one I can even think of that comes close to what you are describing although there is another one that I don't quite remember the title to... maybe the Magic Sword... sigh...

Sounds like maybe the Seventh Voyage of Sinbad or the Golden Voyage of Sinbad.
Did it have miniature monsters? Modelmation special effects (by Ray Harryhausen)?
Was Tom Baker (the 4th Doctor Who) the evil dude?
That would be from the late 50's. Like 57 or 58, I think. Maybe 59
Did it have a pretty girl with dark hair in it?
Did the evil due (Baker) have a turbin?
Did it have a cyclops monster?
