The bottle warmer is great espically in the middle of the night when your tired and you have a bottle in the fridge for him/her.
But the wipe warmer I believe is a waste of money. The baby dosnt care if the wipes are cold or warm. My son did just fine with them not being warm.

the bottle warmer is a waste of money that's what a microwave is for the wipe warmer is a good idea because in the winter no matter how warm your house is those wipes get cold and give the baby a chill it just helps keep the baby comfortable and the best thing i got was diapers good luck

I had received a bottle and a wipe warmer at my shower and never used either one. Diapers and wipes were wonderful gifts, but they are not very personal of that is an issue. Another good thing was medicine. When you think about having a child, you don't always think about what to do if they get sick and you don't want to run out in the middle of the night when they get their first fever or runny nose. If you want something more personal and practical, buy clothes in much bigger sizes. Many people buy cute newborn clothes, then nothing. Receiving clothes that I was able to put away didn't have to run out and buy since they grow SO fast was wonderful.

My best gift was a diaper bag stuffed with clothes, bibs, undershirts, diaper cream, a few diapers, wipes and a toy. It was practical and perfect!
My daughter prefers a warm cloth over a cold one, who wouldn't? But the problem lies when the wipe warmer is not available, your mom's, the babysitter, daycare, etc. So I don't use it anymore and we are back to cold wipes. And yes, they do dry out the wipes so don't bother. It's a nice thought, I can always use a warm towel when the job is tough!
A bottle warmer is great when used in the car. Some places make you pay for warm water to heat your baby's bottle. For long trips I found it to be very useful. For home, it was just stupid.

All that stuff is dumb and a waste of money. And some of those warmer things are a serious fire hazard.
Honestly, the thing that meant the most to me with my first baby was that my best friend came over on her lunch break a few days a week and held my daughter so I could take a shower and talk to a grownup. (I'd had a tough pregnancy, ending in bedrest, a horrible labor, and an emergency C-section, and my daughter was born with jaundice, VUR, and a severe case of reflux. She cried 14 hours a day.)
A good stroller is also a lifesaver. Just getting out of the house, even if the baby screamed the whole way, saved my sanity. And now you don't have to buy a "travel system" with a huge, bulky stroller that you'll never use once your child is 4 months or so. Lots of cool, interesting strollers come with adapters so you can use your car seat on them. Have a bunch of folks pitch in and buy you one that you really love and will really use.
Or get someone to buy you an Ergo baby carrier. WAY better than any Snugli or Baby Bjorn, and you can use it (even though you won't) until your child is in preschool.

I think a wipe warmer is a waste of money. I run a daycare center and use a bottle warmer all the time for breast milk bottles. I really liked the Bobby Pillow and the gift of diapers.

I swear by wipes warmers! I breastfed so I never had a bottle warmer. If you do get the wipes, make sure it's the Prince Lionheart brand. They work the best. You also could pick up a travel wipes warmer too. She'll appreciate it!
The best gift I've received is anything that's personalized. I received a quilt with her name & birthdate embroidered. That was the best!

In my opinion, the bottle warmer is a waste of time/money if you are not breastfeeding because you can always just add warm water (for formula). However, if breastfeeding, it could come in handy to warm up pumped milk.
The wipes warmer is a great gift. Babies really prefer being cleaned by something warm than something cold.
Some great gifts to give are: a boppy pillow, the wipes warmer, roll-on baby powder, diapers, & gift cards...to name a few. :)

I used powder formula for my baby and room temp. water.. never used a bottle warmer.. if the bottle was cold I just sat in in a mug of hot water for a few minutes. The diaper wipe warmer sounds nice.. but not necessary.. I used my boppy a lot.. and the bouncy chair. Oh.. and a sling.. its called an over the shoulder baby holder.. made it so much easier to do stuff around the house.. the baby just lays in it and you have your hands back..
