I work in the land development industry, and I can say that without Mexican Labor, housing prices would be even more expensive. I know that a great deal of the cost is tied up in the actual land, but if all homebuilders used union labor (heck even if they just used full time, regular employees making minimum wage and with benefits), you could expect new home prices to increase about 25-30%.
As for your second question....I don't think your helping your case any with stupid statements like that.
