because we're mammals. all mammals have nipples. that part is scientific. but probably because as fetuses we developed very marginally a part of reproductive organs of both genders. i guess it's different, but i guess it's the same as asking "why do women have clits?" maybe?

when babies are still in the womb, they have the potential to become either sex until about 16 weeks gestation, when the XX or XY portion of their DNA kicks into gear and assigns the baby with either male or female sex organs. Until that time, there were nipples and glands for breasts on both babies and an area for the urethra and gonads, which would either turn into ovaries or testes. The breasts, of course, don't grow on females until they hit puberty, so for several years after birth boys and girls still look relatively the same physically when they're bare from the waist up.

In the development of a fetus, the baby starts of growing as a female. It is later in the development that the baby becomes a male. That's why males have nipples.
