how do i put on eyeliner?

ive never really put on eyeliner myself...my friend always did it...well now i have to do it myself...

and yea im a boy wearin eyeliner oh well

there were no instructions

Cool! My son wears eyeliner too.
First, make sure you have an actual eye liner pencil, not an eyebrow pencil. It should be soft and smooth, and not hurt your eyelids.
Don't try to draw a solid line (even though that might be what you want); use gentle strokes on the eyelid to make a series of short lines. They will "connect up" when you are done.
If you want to do your lower lids, follow the same procedure.
It is generally not a good idea to put eyeliner on your inner lid (that moist, thin area) as it can lead to eye infections.
Liquid eyeliners are good too---no tugging on the delicate skin, but take a lot of practice to get right.

How to Apply Eyeliner

Shape and define your eyes with eyeliner after you've applied eye shadow and before applying mascara. Whether you choose a soft line or a dramatic stroke, eyeliner draws attention.


Steps:
1. Choose an eyeliner appropriate for your eye color. Brown, navy and charcoal accent light eyes well, while brown and plum shades flatter brown eyes. Make sure your liner complements the color of your shadow.

2. Consider the type of look you're after. Pencil eyeliner gives your eyes soft definition, while liquid versions offer precision and drama. You can also moisten dark eye shadow and apply it with a small, flat brush.

3. Prepare a cake liner or a dark eye shadow by applying a small amount of water to your brush. Or, if you're using a pencil eyeliner, ensure that you've sharpened the pencil adequately.

4. Move the wet brush gently through your cake liner or dark shadow. Hold the brush or pencil as you would hold a pen.

5. Tilt your head back slightly and bring your eyes to a half-open state. This creates a good angle for application, while allowing you to see what you're doing.

6. Draw a line across the upper lid just above the lashes, from the inside corner to the outside corner of the eye. If you're using liquid liner, allow it to dry before opening your eyes all the way, or the color may transfer into the crease of your eye.

7. If you used a brush or a pencil, soften the look by gently smudging the line with your brush, a cotton swab or your finger.

8. Line the lower lids. Moving from the outside edge inward, draw a line on the outer two-thirds of the lid or more, depending on the look you're going for. Your line should be slightly thicker at the outside corner, becoming thinner as it moves in toward your nose. Using your brush or pencil, lightly stroke the area. If using a liquid liner, apply it in one smooth stroke. Apply less color so your eyes don't appear raccoonlike.

Tips:
You may find eyeliner, particularly the liquid version, difficult and messy the first few times. Practice and have patience.

Wash brushes regularly with makeup remover or a mild gel shampoo.

You can use a pencil, or a brush. You can use a brush with eyeliner cream (or liquid), or you can actually use a dark eye shadow and apply it with an eyeliner (slanted) brush.
You can also use the shadow and then smudge it with a q-tip or an applicater that is used for smudging. Try it a few different ways and see which way you like it.

This works with pencil eyeliner or liquid liner: draw a fine line from the middle of your eye, as close to your upper lashes as possible to the outer corner of the eye. Then draw from the middle to the inner corner of the eye.

Practice makes perfect. You could try drawing the line in with pencil eyeliner first then going over it with liquid liner.

well what i do is this: I use a black eyeliner pencil. if you wanted to use liquid eyeliner, i don't know how that works. but what i do is i slightly close one of my eyes with my other one open. i start from the outer corner and into the inner corner. but not all the way in the middle corner-because that can hurt my eyes and infect it. that's the only way i can do it to get it onto the top. if you just want the botom, you kind of pull your bottom of the eyes down, and kind of 'sketch' lines. it can poke your eyes if you try to make it in all one line, so do it like cm. by cm. hope that helps! =)

Ok there are two main ways to put on eye lineliner. 1.the easest apply the eye liner right at the roots of your bottom eye lashes. 2. Gentlly pull your eye from uunder the bottom lashes and the skin thats kinda by the inside of the eye applie it there.

If you are putting liner on your upper lid just at the lash line. Use a pencil with a blut tip but not flat flat and not pointy. Close the one eye and watch in your mirror put the pencil to your lid and gentle pull the pencil across as close to the lash line as possible. If you are doing the lower lid same directions apply however you can keep your eye open, be careful not to slip and poke yourself in the eye. :)

Simply just:

Close 1 eye
Place ya finger at the corner of ya eye then put slighly
Take the eye liner pencil [sharpen] & juz draw 1 straight line as close as ya eye lashes.
Fill in like doing colouring on any white patches between the thickness of the 'line' & ya eye lashes.
Repeat for the other eye
