Gene Krupa. Take a look at his performance in "Ball of Fire", a classic with Barbara Stanwyck and Gary Cooper. It's amazing what he did with a pair of matches in that movie. Also listen to him in Benny Goodman's "Sing Sing Sing". And check out his legacy in the following source.
