The lump on her breast is the size of her whole areola. I took her to the dr. before cause she had a very small bump right were her nipple is. The dr. thought it was a breast bud, and she said that the other one should follow, and it did. But this time the lump is alot bigger and hurts her, and the other one has not started (it is still very flat with no lump of any size in it). Should I take her back to the dr. to be seen again? Could it be something more serious, like breast cancer, do kids even get breast cancer?

It is probably just what the doctor said: a breast bud. They can be big and hurt. She is right at the age when girls start developing. Mom, stop worrying--you'll only worry HER. I've never heard of a 10 year old getting breast cancer.

Anyone can get breast cancer. You should take her to see the doctor and ask them if ultrasound of the breast might be in order.

my son had a similar problem i took him to the doctor he said it was mastoids and the a lot of kids going through puberty get this and it will go away it is pain full to the touch he had it in one for about six months and it went away then got it in the other for about the same amount of time but it wouldn't be a bad idea to see a doctor just in case

ohhh.. i'm not sure. maybe it could be the material of clothing rubbing against her to make it hurt and swollen, that happens to me too.
