What would you do if you were in a situation like this? I mean, it's extremely terrifying. What could you do?

In either situation, I would try to get as far away from civilization as possible. 'Head for the Hills' taking as many family and friends as possible. Oh, and as many guns as I could carry for protection against both aliens/zombies and criminals. Then try to live on the land.

I've seen both. I've also read War of the Worlds, when I was in grade school (*many moon, ago) As far, as, the WW premise, I think many of believe, that we could out-smart, out-maneuver, out-run the aliens...in the long run, they died of 'natural causes' ---kind of like the Native Americans and other cultures that have been exposed to 'viruses', that they had no immunity against! It would be like an entire civilization being wiped-out by the measles. Which, brings me to 28 Days...this movie, is almost the complete opposite...no matter where you go, no matter how far you go, you may never be able to escape the virus! This movie, could have perhaps been a little more 'polished', but, I think it still was able to get it's point across. I though the scene where, the one actor was looking upwards, and a drop of blood, from a corpse, fell in his eye, in slo-mo. Wicked!

Heck... anytime you wake up, or whatever, and there are absolutely NO people around... 1. Running Car. 2. Weapons... Guns perferably, swords as a last resort. 3. Food. Find someplace that has food and water that will last you as long as possible. The Grocery store is a good thought, but there are too many ways for someone to get in. 4. Person of the opposite sex, still alive and not sick... need some kind of company. Right??? ;) 5. Any survivors...

No I've never seen either movie but I guess I just wonder why aliens would possibly want to attack us. They are obviously far beyond us in technology and I think if they had any interest in doing that they would have certainly done it by now, assuming they do exist. In movies they often portray aliens as kidnapping us off of the earth and doing studies on us. It just seems really unlikely. If they are that far ahead of us there is nothing they could learn from us. That is like a person kidnapping a turkey and finding out what it knows.

in the 28 days later scenario, I'd find the first vehicle I could, and drive until I found a gun store, load up on as much guns and ammo as I could and hole up in an abandoned grocery store until the 28 days passed.

War of the worlds... hmm... I live in a place thats close to several military base, so I imagine it'd be one of the first places to be leveled, I'd probably be dust before I even knew anything was going on.
