My cam use to work then we had to start all over with everything because a virus ... i can still take pictures with cam but with messenger it freezes up everytime i click on it everything else works correctly with messenger but my cam . Any clues on what to do ?

.Be patient, do not panic, close other programs.
Try these:
The CD that came with your cam should have a uninstall/reinstall component on it try that first. If it does not have it. Try this
1Driver re- installation; UN-Install the program by left clicking start; at this point you will see various names indicating different programs. click on that program and select un-install. Then reinstall program from CD.
2.Update: this might not be necessary if all went well with the previous instructions. Go to the Website recommended by the MFG. and follow their instructions. You should go to the site to get FAQ"s, Tips, Tricks, and other goodies.
*** go to Hp site whether you have an Hpcamera or not. The tips they give for taking pix are invaluable, and their is other helpful information that could reduce your computer anxiety.

try reinstalling the drivers of your web cam. try updating those drivers if it still doesn't work.
if the web cam still wont work, try the webcam on another computer.. if it works for another computer, then the webcam should be fine and your messanger or your pc is the one causing the problem.
