how do i take 30% from 300. Like if something costs 300 bucks and im getting 30% off of it...how would i figure that up? im so brain fart right now..im thinking 300 divided by 30, or .30 gah..dumb person here.

Or something like that. You probably already know that 30 out of 100 is 30%. You visualize this concept by dividing 100 into 10 tens. three of those tens together is 30%. Imagine you are a Roman Army General. You have been given an army of 100 soilders. You want to divide your group into whole number groups. So that you can manage them easier by assigning each of these 10 units their own Captain. So that you don't have to keep telling all one hundred of them orders at one time. You only want to give commands to their ten captains. This saves you time for example. The ten captains then go back to their units after consulting you for commands and instructions and these ten can tell another ten men. For a total of 100 men given one command very quickly. If you were to try to give out a command to all 100. This would take much longer and your fighting force would be very slow to react. So, try to immagine you have 300 soilders to command. Now you have 30 tens. You have 3 times as as many men to command. You would need 30 men to command yourself. Who will then command the rest. So,30 out of 300 is 10%.
