There are two ways to wait: 1) watching for the next opportunity and 2) with the expectation of something just happening to you without any input or effort on your part.
If someone waits with patience, as in 1), good things really come. If someone waits with resignation, as in 2), nothing will come. Or at least the probability is much smaller.
The important thing is to know WHY you're not trying to get that good thing right now. Are you waiting patiently, or with resignation?

ABSOLUTELY. I met my boyfriend 6 years ago. But we were only friends for the 1st 5. It wasn't even like we decided to be friends, we just were and as the years went by we just grew as individuals and grew closer as well. He then became my best friend and the one i called when things got rough. A year ago we fell in love (1st) and then decided to go out. Soon we're going to get married. So YES, it was worth the wait. I know that if we had started going out 6 years ago I would have broke up with him because he used to drive me crazy. Time just makes things grow in quality. Like wine.

I know women who are in their 60's and "still waiting" for that knight in shining armor, so no I don't believe that good things come to those who wait. In fact I believe if you sit and wait life will pass you by. You have to advertise to let people, ideas, employers, etc. know that you exist.

no, cause you dont believe."They that wait upon the Lord shall rise up with wings as eagles.". "And we know that all things work together for good for them that love the Lord, to them who are the called according to His purpose." God gave the good of the earth to us for our good pleasure, you are already full of scepticism and disbelief so even if that good thing sat down right in front of you, you would miss it..

I think we focus so much on the negative, the good things pass by without notice.
