The ferret should be able to be straight with out his tail sticking up in the air for the ball to be large enough. And it isn't a good idea to just let them run loose in the house. I know of one chewing an electric cord and frying himself and another got crushed in the couch when some one flopped down on it.

undesirable idea! those balls are incredibly undesirable for a ferrets decrease back. Ferrets backs arch evidently upwards, contained in the ball they ought to arch their backs downwards. in case you are able to't have a room the position the ferret can only run loose without entering into hardship, you want to ferretproof a room quick, or imagine about yet another puppy. Ferrets want various vacation of their cage to run, bounce, play, and detect, and they need an outstanding style of interaction with their proprietor (4 hours an afternoon, accepted).

Advise, DON'T! Ferrets do not get along with run about balls. They need more just run and playing, and interaction with you. They also will do better with at least two of them...that way they have each other to play with, not just you. Remember they sleep about 20 hours a day, but the other 4 they are in search and destroy mode. They are not mean, just gotta be into everything. So ferret proof a room for them and let them our of their cage for at least 4 to 6 hours a day...Always, Always supervise them. Remember if they can get their head into a space, they can get their selves in it too.

Do not put a ferret in one of those balls! It won't be good for their back for one thing, I don't even know if they make one big enough for them. And they would be absolutely bored and confused in one. They aren't rodents, think of them more like a cat or dog. They need to run, explore, hide, and stretch out. If they chew on electrical cords, spray bitter apple on it. And watch out for them when you sit on a couch. You need to ferret proof a room for them to get at least 4 hours of exercise daily. If you don't have to room or time then a ferret isn't for you. They NEED free roam time (definately not in those balls) in at least one room.
Please do some more research!!! Ferrets are very special animals with specific needs that have to be met. Pick up a copy of "Ferrets for Dummies" by Kim Schilling. And join Everything Ferrets: http://www.everythingfert.proboards36.com/ . It's a wonderful community of ferret lovers!

Don't put that thing in a ball. Let it run around the house on its own. They are hilarious.(Try this) blow up balloon's and place them on the floor. The ferret will attack them. Pretty funny stuff.
