What system? Like Quickbooks or Peachtree? They all have sample companies and you can see the process. What you learn in class is often different from real practice. Accounting for these programs is transaction based. When you get a check in then there is a module to enter that or when you have to issue a check just enter the data based on the menus. - for example if a sale was made on credit, then you need to enter the Accounts Receivable.. that will automatically set up a transaction so that when a check/wire comes in then it will pop up and you can click that as a Receivable.... most of these programs are user friendly.

Also, importantly - you need to find out about your filing requirements. Some items may be quarterly some may be monthly and then there's annual filings. That is what can get you into trouble.

Read the book and learn the programs. There is a good bookkeeping course at this website. Univeral Accounting Center type this in the search engine and it will take you to the site. Good luck.

Honey, you need to study the book, or at the very least, study and practice with whatever software your company uses. And I have never heard of Simple Accounting....lol
