Because rock music isn't danceable.
All those you mentioned have a steady beat. Rock music varies a lot...and nobody really wants to hear that stuff in a club anyway. Only place they play rock songs are junior high dances man...

Where you at?? In SoCal, tribute bands like Led Zepagain (saw 'em last Friday at the Quiet Cannon's VIP Room in Montebello) and Wild Child (to play the same joint Friday the 11th) are listed all over the place! Coming up at the Grove in Anaheim-walking distance from Angels baseball stadium-is a double-bill with Led Zepagain and Which One's Pink? (a premier Pink Floyd cover band-saw them at House of Blues on the Sunset Strip/Hollywierd). Listen to your Uncle Scandalous: move your butt out here and get to rockin'!

I'm old school and back when I was "clubbing" ( back then we called it "bar hopping") that's all that was playing..good ole rock and roll. We never had any problem dancing to it. I guess it is stoner music but hey.. I'm an old stoner. And maybe another reason it's never played is because nobody appreciates the good old stuff and nowdays no one has the talent to make music like that any more.

AMEN ! I feel the same way. I LOVE to dance to rock music....it's so much more dynamic and exciting than most club music that tends to be repetitive and monotonous. I have come to the conclusion that most people just aren't good enough dancers to dance to any music that doesn't have a very static, unchanging beat.

Rock is harder to dance to...the beat is different than other types of music, and the club probably gets alot of requests so they will play what the majority of the guests want to hear and dance to.

Because in a club you need music to dance to and feel the groove and you can't dance to rock music. It's music to listen to when you are high.

Because those songs are fast and the faster the music, the faster you dance and the more you drink. That is the real reason, not just what is or isn't popular.

i totally agree, but i think it's so that people can 'get down' to the beat if you get my drift, you can't really get the same thing with fall out boy, who is on the radio, signing 'i'm just a notch in your bedpost....'. It would be really nice if they had some all rock music clubs....THAT would b gr8
