I would be sad to wake up on my birthday, not get a phone call from my best friend, post a question kvetching about it, and then realize that life does not revolve around me, that sometimes crap happens, and that the telephone works both ways.
Of course, all my best friends have ADD and are lucky to remember to pay their cellphone bills on time and to remember what day of the week it is, let alone my birthday once every five years.
Besides, in 20 years, you'll be praying nobody remembers that you're turning another year older.

It would depend on the reason. Maybe there was a really good reason. Things do come up and life happens. If there wasn't a good reason, yeah, I'd be mad, but I'd get over it. If it's a true friendship then it's not worth losing over that. Happy Birthday though.

I have had the same best friend since I was 12 and I am now 48. We never remember each other's birthdays but we love eachother dearly. If she's there for you when it counts, that's all you really need in a best friend. The other stuff is fluff. Let it roll off your back like water on a duck.

I wouldn't be mad, but my best friend and I have been best friends for fifteen years, so we're grown and we have families and busy lives. Actually, these days we talk a lot on MySpace, so she always sends me a little message on my birthday if she doesn't call, and I do the same for her. We've been through so much over the years that I wouldn't be too hurt. But I would razz her about it :)

i'd be hurt but think about them maybe somehting came up and they couldn't call you. Don't be mad until you know the whole story then once you kknow the story if you have a reason to be mad still the right on just don't make it jeapordize your friendship..it's not worht it just be like so why didn't you call me or make it a point that everyone called & thank the other friends that called in front of her then she ight give an excuse.

No. As we get older, birthdays become less of a big deal. If your friend forgot, so what? It's just a birthday and he/she will probably call you tomorrow. Did you remember his/her birthday?

Sometimes people forget things.... If you are really upset, tell him/her... and get if off your chest. But dont let it drag on, and try to let it go once you talk about it. There are worse things in life people can do to you other than forget a birthday.
Happy Birthday
