OK, my cousin is a dip--but he is a hard-working dip. His mother has this really HUGE basement--big enough for at least five dungeons complete with dragons, OK? And Rufus wants to put up cages and raise rats for a living. He is sick and tired of delivering pizzas all night, getting held up, getting stiffed on tips, and having 90-year-old women meet him at the door dressed in black leather and carrying a whip. --Weirdos!! OK?

So, Rufus has gotten up a few rats of his own and wants to grow to where he is the acknowledged RAT KING OF AMERICA!!

He even has a business name picked out--WE ARE SERIOUS RATS, Inc.

Wow, huh?

The biggie bummer for Rufus right now is that he can't figure out who to sell to. Restaurants are flat out!!! He tried that on his own and one restuarant-owner sent Rufus to the hospital for nearly a week, the beating was so bad!!

"All I asked him was 'Do you want a better rat to serve?' " Rufus told me from within his bandages.

SO WHERE ARE THE BUYERS?

The only reason I can think of where people would buy rats is to feed them to big snakes. Other than people that also like rats which aren't going to be that many. Tell him he needs to get back to the drawing board and find another idea. I'm sure he doesn't want to raise them just to get eaten by snakes. Good luck.

Your best bet is definitely selling the rats to snake farms, etc. (but they probably raise their own anyway.) Next would probably be the pharmaceutical companies. Once he incorporates, I think it would be a lot easier for him to legitimize his solicitations to sell to such companies.

Pet stores, snake farms (they use them for food) and pharamceutical research companies would be a good start.

I think yiou're just trying to shock people. No one wants to buy rats, they want to exterminate them. Tell your cousin to watch Willard and I suggest you watch it with him then if he still wants to raise them, tell him to call his business Willards Fine Meats.

Have you considered marketing to people who own snakes? or maybe the local zoo?

I have to say though, the entertainment value is really high.
Please give my regards to Rufus......
