I think the world would be a better place if Hezbollah did not attack its neighbors. I'm all for a group of nationalists who believe in the good of their countrymen, but killing 8 people and kidnapping 2 is not the answer. Things were calm for a few years, and Israel had even pulled out of southern Lebanon. They need to be more diplomatic about making their voices heard.

H_ll yeah we would be safer!
But you need to throw in the PLO and Hamas. Have you noticed that just when Israel was making progress against Hamas, Hezbollah started its rocket attacks? The three groups are working on the same agenda. "drive Israel into the sea," and punish their enemies.
The proper way to handle a disagreement is through diplomacy, war should be only a last resort. Terrorism is practiced by a group that doesn't have a desire for a diplomatic solution or the ability to fight a war.
Israel was created by the UN. It's a fact; it may not have been fair to the Palestinians, but it was done to help the Jews and now that it is done it cannot be undone. The Moslem terrorist organizations are unwilling to accept this fact. The UN is willing to talk about it, after they renounce terrorism. Israel is also willing to negotiate. They made a peace with Egypt and gave back some of the land they took in the 6 day war. Israel is willing to let the Palestinians live and work in Israel, but the terrorists are unwilling to let that happen, and the use their attacks to prevent it. Surely you remember all those suicide bombers. How can Israel negotiate with or even allow Palestinians into their country when any one of them could be a suicide bomber?

Not in Lebanon. It was Hizbollah who drove Israel off of Lebonses land occupied form 1982 -2000. Hizbollah is, in that sense, a liberating force. Much like the US in Iraq (oh whoops, I almost forgot that the Iraqis called us on that and found out we were lying and are actually an occupying force, mybad).
The world would be a nicer place without wanton killing.
Instead of taking the morally questionable stance of looking at what others are doing, without knowledge and without any tangible way to do anything about thier situation, WHY NOT look at what is in your control, what you voted for, what you can do something about if you had the willpower to even write your Senator even... I am talking about the horror, far worse than anything Hizbollah has ever done, that the United States is doing right now in Iraq and Afghanistan (and other places too, not in the Media that you are unaware of).
Why not look at the blood on your hands before asking Hizbollah to wash the boold off of thiers.
Thier cause is far more justified than yours. I hate to say that, but think about it... Is Hezbollah invading Israel? Nope, vice versa. If you still fall for the 2 soldiers pretext to all this Israeli aggression, then you are truely foolish.
Check facts. No matter what Bush says, Facts Do Matter.

no, no, no no and no again. I wonder how could that people before then answer that. Hezbollah IS a terrorist group in most countries, its true they attack Israel but in Lebanon they give humanitarian help, they have schools, hospitals, they help people survive in a war-torn environment. The answer to the conflict does not lie in the destruction of Hezbollah nor in the destruction of Israel, it lies in a peaceful coexistence between the two neighbors. The world wouldnt be a nicer place without Hezbollah and the war happening in Lebanon is a mad, stupid attack from Israel, so i dare to say im on side of Lebanon, and this conflict needs to end peacefully. Violence only leads to more violence and finally to death.

YES
Hezbollah means "The Army of God"
There are many people, however who beg to differ.
And don't think they are such cuddly fellas either.
PEACE LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING
Evening Standard 2 August 2006
Hezbollah has said "Israel is Useful because it is Easier to KILL ALL JEWS if they are in ONE place"
"But the hysterical Anti-Israeli media and naive Protestors here miss the point that, for Al Qaeda and Hezbollah, Jews are the personification of the West and Enlightenment - they are Us and We (The West) are Next".
Aljazeera.Net: 3 August 2006 Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said the solution to end the conflict in Lebanon was the "elimination of the Zionist regime."
The Spectator 5 August 2006
Hezbollah Cells await Iran’s Orders
At a recent Stop the West rally (yes, I know, but that’s their real agenda) demonstrators waved placards proclaiming ‘We’re all Hezbollah now’. Really? If so, why were they allowed to parade in Trafalgar Square? In a sane society they should surely all have been arrested as a self-proclaimed army of holy warriors whose explicit aim was to murder untold numbers of innocents, destroy Britain, America and the free world and subjugate them to the dictatorship of the ayatollahs.
Because that’s what Hezbollah is. Literally designated the Army of God, it is a military force funded, trained by and answerable to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Iran that is pledged — as it has been since the Khomeini revolution of 1979 — to the destruction of Israel and the genocide of the Jews, as a prelude to destroying the West and infidels everywhere. The Iran that is steadily developing nuclear weapons so that it can achieve these aims.
Many on the British Left mistakenly believe that Hezbollah is merely another Muslim liberation movement to add to its collection. (The thinking which leads the Left to classify genocide as liberation is a story in itself.) As a result, the comrades of ‘Stop the War’ march behind placard images of their new hero Nasrallah, while George Galloway MP proclaimed at the demonstration, ‘Hezbollah is not a terrorist group and I am here to glorify the Lebanese resistance movement.’
In Britain there are thought to be relatively few Khomeinists compared with Sunni terrorists. But there are enough to form a serious potential security threat if Iran decides to unleash Hezbollah against targets in the UK. And that is now a real possibility.
According to German and Israeli intelligence sources, Hezbollah sleeper cells are present.....Margaret Beckett has told the Commons that ‘there are indeed concerns’ about Iran-backed terrorists attacking the UK.
And now Iran has explicitly singled out Britain as a target for attack - not because of Lebanon or any other recent event.
In an Iranian TV interview on 23 July, Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claimed that ‘England was the founder of this sinister regime’ Israel and, like America, was ‘an accomplice to all its crimes’.
PS Interesting point: The word "Assassin" actually comes from Arabic. It was coined from a secretive extremist Shia Arabic-Iranian Terrorist organisation based in Lebanon and Iran called the Hashisham (Assassins) of Alamut. They were founded by Hassan i Sabbah of the Persian Ismai'ili sect in 1090. Their Mission was to kill Western Infidels and Crusaders, but they also killed a lot of other Muslims they did not like. They also conducted lots of Suicide Missions. They were major players in the international Drugs trade. The Assassins of Alamut, it is said liked to imbibe copious quantities of Hashish before they assassinated someone. Hence the origin of the word "Assassin". The Assassins were finally destroyed by the Mongols under Genghis Khan. This was greeted with much joy by orthodox Muslims. The Assassins have been a blue print for many of the modern Terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah. The more things change in the Middle East the more things stay the same!

I can't be on Hezbollah's side. They are the radical arm of Iran (supported) living and using Lebanon as a staging area for attacks on Israel! I also have bone to pick with them about killing 232 Marines in a bombing in Lebanon in 1983. A court ruled that Iran backed that bombing and Hezbollah carried it out!

The way I understand the whole Israel/Hezbollah mess is the Hezbollah are akin to what Al-Queada is to U.S. And Israel is NOT taking these events diplomatically or by sitting on their hands.
For no provocated reason, Hezbollah shelled heavily into Israel, killing innocent people. Israel's Prime Minister point blankedly stated on CNN he intends to blitz Hezbollah occupied terrortories, on-target set on killing Hezbollah as the only way to defeat them.
The only question I have on this conflict is: who is financing Hezbollah's weaponry??
