Why do you dislike like him as a President and/or person? Do you think the media and Hollywood has been an influence in your decision or did you come to your conclusion based on your own findings?

I'd like to hear honest opinions and facts if you have them.
No arguements here, I will respect all opinions.

Please be more specific than "I think he's made bad decisions" or "He is ruining our country"

What of his decisions do you consider bad? How is he ruining our country?

Wandermind - I am not criticizing Bush. For the record I am a republican and Bush supporter. I am just trying to get honest opinions from people who don't like Bush.
You have to talk to people you disagree with like people, not by insulting them or speaking condescendingly

I know George Bush must have made some mistakes as a President, I don't expect any president to be perfect. But I like him, I think he has great speaking skills, he's intelligent. He handles the important matters in a responsible way, regardless of making himself more or less popular. I haven't heard any serious opinion, based on real facts or knowledge, from the people who say they don't like him. And ... here, I don't see any satisfactory answer either. Most of them show that they hate Bush "just because.."

Thank you for asking a decent question and not trying to bait people,

I dislike our President as well, I did not vote for him either time, and did not trust him when elected.

With that said I was also willing to give him a chance.

When 9/11 happened he had an opportunity to unite this country as never before, look at us now 5 years later I can not remember a time we have been more divided. I can go back as far as Viet Nam.

I am not going into the Iraq mess as many before me have.

He seems to me to be a puppet for those who put him into office, and the Congress is just a rubber stamp for him and their interests, a couple of weeks ago all the house seemed to want to discuss was Gay Marriage, a pledge protection act and a Free trade agreement with Oman.

I really believe there are bigger problems this country faces today than those issues, which 2 out of 3 of them were only designed to appeal to the shrinking Republican base.

Thanks again for your question.

I dislike Bush because his policies have contributed to the creation of a whole new cadre of terrorists, enlisted in what they see as a cosmic struggle between good and evil, a vision shared by bin Laden.

I think Bush has a lot in common with bin Laden actually. I dislike that sort of fanaticism and appeal to these black - vs - white mentality.

It is an insult to the People of the United States.

He also totally ignores the families of the troops and is cutting military family needs.

He actually tried to make the American Psychological Association change thier clinical definition of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and failed. So then he simply ordered the change to be made in what the VA says is PTSD. A troop coming home from war has to now identify the exact instance where he/she suffered the trauma, which is impossible because usually you lose memory and are in a state of shock. Otherwise the VA will not diagnose this syndrome... that is ******-up.

This is why so many Vietnam vets are homeless and messed up mentally. I think this war, due to Bush's negligence and violence against our own people, will lead us to see far greater numbers of Vets who are totally dissallusioned when they come home and that means more domestic violence, suicides, homelessness and the parts of war that no one sees and no Yale frat boy cheerleader like Bush cares about a bit.

amen.

I think the most important shift in the election process happened with John F. Kennedy's election. Prior to that era, politicians were elected on their qualifications for the job.. When Kennedy(and all those since)was running, the press sought to, and succeeded, in glorifying the run for the top job. Everything was of movie-star mentality...Kennedy's money, personal life, etc, made him a 'movie star' through the media...since then, the person that 'looked the best' was elected...Reagans charm, moviestar status, smart alec remarks, etc, were his spotlight(I liked him too)...Clinton was a womans man. He 'looked good' , was funny, a showman, and no match for Bush 1 who was boring,etc(Bush1 was qualified and a POW, well traveled, etc, but didn't have 'the look' or charm)...Now we have George Jr- a texas party animal, liar, and low IQ, people hoped he was smart, but is not. He had the look, but only daddys name to back it up. Next time hopefully the voters will get past the showman ability that has surfaced and find a qualification based candidate again...but I doubt it.

Maybe if Bush wasn't pres,9/11 may not have happened!
His incompetence, both as "Commander in Chief" & Pres. is scary. It's like he has to receive instructions every time he speaks. He knew about the 1st crash before arriving at the school. A bit into his talk, a secret service person told him of the 2nd. He nodded that he understood and continued talking for another14 mins or so. Your country is under attack stupid, do something.

Much has to do with the liberal media having a hard time dealing with real issues. Liberal America still believe in fairy tales...that by chanting Peace,Peace at nausea the world is going to have peace. Some times the best way to peace is war--that's what Bush has done in Ira. And Liberals hate Bush for that . Liberal live in utopia-land. Moreover, the bush administration is anti-abortion and anti-gay marriages---baby killer and homosexual obviously hate that position. Welfare recipients, too, are against Bush because for the first time their welfare hand-outs are taking the back sit to matters of national security and interest.. And the list goes on.... I take George Bush over Bil Clinton any day.

The media has not been on the conservatives side for many years now and Hollywood hates anyone that's conservative especially a president,Hollywood's way of life is so out of touch with the real world that anyone can see they can't manage their own lives,so how in the hell can they tell you who to vote for, that's why many citizens are turned off by movie stars that campaign for anyone, having said that,I don't agree with Bush on many important issues such as immigration, his idea of protecting the borders is to send a few national guards on a huge stretch of land between Mexico and the US then tie their hands by not giving them any authority to apprehend anyone, yet he sends thousands of our troops overseas to protect another country

I think the main reason I don't like him is because of the war in Iraq. He couldn't find the WMD's he was looking for and I think he has his own personal agenda for starting that war. After 9/11 he promised to get Bin Laden but he seems more interested in Iraq and what is going on there. I think he is doing a lot of things that are ruining our country. I didn't think the way he became president was very fair. It seems to me that the presidential race was very close and it came down to Florida (which his brother just happens to be governor of) and all of a sudden he won. I don't trust him at all.

I respect Bush Jr. You can't hate the guy too much. Although he has little concept of fiscal responsibility, he is a leader and defender of American ideals. This is a brave country and it's good of us instead of critiziing, step up to the plate yourself and give it a try. Bush will be down the road a thousand miles before you can take two steps pal.
