Here are some more clues. Linen has a great capacity to absorb moisture without getting damp in the process.

Can't you guess how many times its weight it can absorb without getting damp.

Linen's absorbing power of moisture is underestimated here.

ILinen is siad to absorb a lot more.

I do believe linen can hold up to 5 times its own power before becoming damp.
i dont know where i have heard this but i no i have.
somewhere................
maybe its even more like 7 to 10.........

Its a subjective question, I tend to be much more sensitive than most. I would imagine given the nature of linen that it could absorb about half its mass in water before it feels moist.
