I want to audition for "Fame" at a theater nearby. I have to prepare a one-minute monologue and song. The parts I am interested in are:
SERENA KATZ
MABEL WASHINGTON
CHORUS (only if I can't get anything else, of course)
I know to get the parts I REALLY want, I will need to have a REALLY good song and a REALLY good monologue. Does anyone have any monologues I could use? What about songs? Well, actually, I already HAVE a list of songs I should consider. Tell me which one you would recommend, please!

As someone who was done and judged a lot of auditions, I would suggest singing Just around the Riverbend (from Pochahontas), as its the least cliche of all the songs you listed. Good luck!

Jesus.... just pick one and sing.

We can't hear your voice here on Yahoo DisasterAnswers.... be your own judge... what feels best for you? What makes you shine? What makes your friends go "Holy Cripes Batman.... that broad has a set of pipes on her" ???
