I think that its very conterversial cuz of their name Triple 6 Mafia and their record label being named Hypnotize Mindz and also some of their older music sounds evil and some verses in there songs talk about the devil and stuff... But I honestly believe that they are not cuz why would they thank God after they won the oscar and say it was a blessing. I have also always heard that members Juicy J "Jordan Houston" and Project Pat "Patrick Houston" who are brothers, their father is a pastor in a Christian church. I will agree that its a possibility at one time that maybe they were satanic in their earlier years but their image has changed since then, now their beats are more uptempo and they dont mention the devil or satan in any of their lyrics. And in the song "Stay Fly" the woman in the background is saying Your My Pride.. Your My Dream.. You my Dar-ling. Its sampled from one of Willie Hutch's songs from the 70's check it out under www.youtube.com search: Three 6 Mafia found on page 4

"Their name has been a topic of controversy because of some people's belief that their name refers to the Mark of the Beast. They are known to have mentioned the occult in song topics and this, with their name, has potentially affected their amount of television and radio play (utill their success with "Stay Fly"). They have never claimed to worship Satan and claim to be Christians. The name's meaning is attributed to "it started with three people in the group, ended up with six, Three 6 Mafia" according to an interview with Juicy J. The group is now at 3 members again with Lord Infamous in jail and Project Pat filling in."

as far as what i think...no, they don't. only reason it's controversial anyway is because christians get their panties in a bunch..."ooh, that's satanic!" even if it was, so what? last time i checked it was their right to say whatever they want.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
