to the dude in KY: I have lived in ID, MI, IL and NE and have always owned front-wheel drive foreign cars. it's funny that they've worked for me. huh. i think i'll leave it at that.

to the typical mom driving the suv: are you a control-freak? i bet your husband thinks so. but if you ask him, remember what the answer always is to the 'am i too fat in this dress' question.

I think people drive big trucks and Suv's because they have a need to feel big and powerful which is generally cause by a lack of self esteem

I drive a suburban (gasp). I have 3 kids and will probably have more. I also have a gigantic double jogging stroller that I keep in the car and I am always toting my kids and their friends places. I need that many seats. Plus, it's really nice to have 4 wheel drive in the snow and mountains.

I don't own a truck or SUV, but when I drive my brother's it feels pretty cool. Trucks do serve practical purposes, but I do think that SUVs are obsolete especially if one lives in a big, crowded city. Public transit everybody!!

Honestly, I think it's just because its easier to see the road, and it feels more secure. Just drive a Mini-Cooper on the Long Island Expressway and compare it to a Ford F-150 pickup to get the idea.

Well, you know what they say about the guy who drives the Ferrari. He is making up for something else lacking.

Yeah, it is a self-esteem thing. It provides a (somewhat false) sense of security.
