Actually i want to install this to my desktop

nVIDIA GeForce FX5500 DVI

which catalog written it is AGP 8 X, it this card can work on my desktop?

Yes, but only one that's AGP 4x/8x. Some are 8x-only, and won't work, usually (almost always).
