Animal Crossing is a simulation type game and Tetris DS is a puzzle game. I am just not sure which one to buy.

I'd go with Animal Crossing, simply for the replay value. Sure, you can whip out Tetris at anytime, hop on the Wi-Fi and whip some kid's tail who lives on the other side of the world, but all the other game mods tend to get a bit repetitive after the first few run-throughs. There's just about always something new to do in AC, though, and it's an easy game to put down for a long time and jump right back into.

I have both - Animal Crossing is WAY better. It's a game that never ends! Tetris DS is pretty much the same as Tetris on the computer, and it gets boring pretty fast.

Unless you can really commit to Animal Crossing, you shouldn't get it. If you don't play AC for a couple of days, weeds pop up and cockroaches run around your house. I'd say it's very high maintenance.
