Well, you have two choices:

To be unsure of things
To be sure of things

When you are sure of something, you don't have to work as hard for it, you know it will always be there, it's easy to take it for granted.

The trick is to always appreciate everything you have, but until you've been through losing it, I don't think you can fully appreciate it to the point that you refuse to take it for granted.

We take things for granted because many of us haven't experienced hard times - going without essentials. We panic if our computer goes down when there are millions of people going without food and water. Yes, we are spoiled and selfish for the most part. Until something happens where we lose our toys or where we lose people we love, we generally take things for granted.....)(

So we can go to bigger and better things. If we didn't take things for granted then that is all we would have

I think it has to do with conditioning. We get used to things being the same and being there when we need them and people who love us and we don't think about it until it's gone or broken or dead. Sad but true. Everyone should take time each day to count their blessings and the world would be a better more appreciative place.

Because we don't want to do the work to think about where the things we have came from.

I don't know, reminds me of the movie "Click" with Adam Sandler. It's so true and I really wish I knew why I did it myself.

A little spoiled and a little selfish....sometimes we think only of ourselves. We often think a person will be around forever....not true!!
