Wait until night so they're out hunting and close up the holes that they're using to enter the building (I assume you own the building). You should consider putting up an alternative bat house (near the hole). This would help encourage them to not try to reenter the building.
Avoid killing them, they're excellent at killing insects.

You'll need to hire a pest control company. They pest control folks will come out at dusk (after the bats have flown off for the night) and put a wire mesh around the areas that the bats fly in and out of (you'll need to watch the building at dusk one day so you can direct the pest control company what part of the building to focus on). The bats won't be happy the next night, but they'll move on to another location. You can put up a few bat houses (available at the hardware store, etc.) so they'll have a new home.

Bats are great for controlling your local insect population, but I'm sure you're not too thrilled with all of that guano in your building. Try going to a local hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot and buying one of those ultrasonic pest controllers. Remember bats are nocturnal creatures with extremely sensitive hearing (that is how they detect insects..sonic waves..) so by installing that pest controller it should irritate them enough during the day to make them leave of their own accord.
Another option is to plug a bright lamp inside the building. Bats prefer dark places to bright ones =) Hope that helps.

A few bats aren't a bad thing. They eat the insects that otherwise will bother you when you are out doors in the evening. There are bat houses that you can build and put on trees or barns or other buildings to attract them to another location. If there are LOTS of bats (I've seen over 200 fly out of one house chimney in one evening), you'll probably need professional help. Bats are protected...meaning you can't kill them. Search it out online. They might become your friends!

Don't get rid of them - one bat can eat 600 mosquitoes an hour while they are hunting! I am building houses to get the bats to come.

Wow, you have a free anti-insect machine living next door. I'd love bats around my house.
If you want to get rid of them, dont do it yourself. Get pest control. But think twice, if bats are gone, some other animals may move in next door or worst...insect populations will increase.

Since it's not your house you're kind of out of options. The way I as told is to caulk up any and every little hole and crevasse you can find! I don't know where you live but we had them in a former house we lived in Minnesota and it's illegal to kill them (cause they help kill mosquitoes, etc) My husband used to sit outside at night and take them out with a bb gun and we found out you can't (so if you want to do that just don't get caught if it's illegal) Just plug up the holes and you should be good. Even the spot you wouldn't think they can get into.

If they are in your house and you would like them to move just keep a light on all the time. They like to be in the dark so will avoid the light. Make sure you clean up any droppings they have left and scour the area well. Watch where they are getting in and screen it but the screen must be strong. Their "hands" are strong and they will want back in. It took about a year of continually disturbing them and cleaning their mess before they decided to move someplace else. We still keep the light burning every night "just in case"... Hope it works for you.
