It's a diss, an insult. They are saying that your mouth stinks, your breath is bad. I say "it's your upper lip", but to each their own...

No it's just that your top lip is the closest thing to your nose. So ppl assume that that's what your smelling!

They're saying that you're not smelling whatever it is you say stinks, they're saying you're smelling your top lip.
