let them do whatever they want. They are sacred creatures and are directly related to all things that are good. The Gods bestow on them special divine powers. If you cross them in any way, you will pay the ultimate price...You will spend the rest of your mortal life as a slithering worm on a dry slab of cement.

take time to set down and get down on their level so they don't get threatened by your size. ask them for something to drink and eat to show them you trust them. by now there guard will be let down and they will feel comfortable with you and will open up to discussing their Life and adventures. after you have learned all you need to, bid them farewell and offer them some sort of gift to thank them for their time and advice.
