No. There is actually no such thing as being common-law divorced-once you are married, a divorce will only be granted to you by a court order and within the 50 states where it was requested. As for common law marriages? Yes, they do exist, but only nine states support them, and it all depends on where you live and the circumstances. See the web address below for more info on the subject.

The "common law" type of marriage varies from state to state. Some states do not recognize common law marriage at all. If you get legally married...then you have to get legally divorced. You have to pay the state or county to get married, you have to pay them to get divorced. Some one collects money for everything...even dying costs money. But it would be nice if you could just wait 7 years and be automatically be divorced!

That sounds logical to me!
However, I could never be separated from someone for 7 years. When I make up my mind to separate it means I am also filing for divorce. I could never be married to someone who doesn't want to live with me.

Nope... But you had to act as if your were husband and wife. Living together doesn't mean you are married. You have to be introduced as husband and wife. Use his last name. Have legal documents with the same last name.Checking account anything like that. If you have done that, then you must legally get divorced.

There is an abandonment clause, but the amount of years vary from state-to-state.
