There are a number of reasons. Simply put, however, males are stronger and faster than females. This is simply the way things are. Men have higher muscle mass than females and a bone structure (broader shoulders) more suitable to an intensely physical game like football. Compare the strongest or fastest man to the strongest or fastest woman. The man will always win out, ALWAYS. Many people don't realize how brutal a game like football is. It is a savage, violent, draining game that requires an immense amount of work just to get into playing shape. Many of my male friends simply would not be able to play football because they lack the physical and mental capacity to withstand the constant pounding that is a natural part of the game. Speaking from personal experience, we had a girl that wanted to play football my senior year. She was a big enough girl, maybe could have had some potential, but she didn't even last a week. The summer heat, the relentless hitting, tackling, and blocking drills, and the conditioning on top of it all were too much for her. Heck, it was too much for some of the guys, too. I remember how beat up and bruised I would get after a game, and how sore I was the next morning. I know a number of very athletic girls, some of whom can punch to make a guy cry. However, I cannot even begin to imagine them withstanding the punishment of a football season. Female bodies are simply not structured for that sort of activity.

Because boys get ignorant ...
girls can play, there's just a tremendous strength disparity that if she decides to play a position where she should be able to bench press 250 pounds...and she can't...she'll will get hurt.

Women's bodies aren't made to take a beating like men's bodies are. We have thicker bones, more muscle, and stronger joints and ligaments than women do. We also weigh more, which means a stronger, heavier body plowing into yours, which means there's a pretty good chance yours will break.

American football w. all that safety gear I can't imagine why. Rugby now there's a game that isn't safe for girls, real Football, (Soccer to you) is too fast and requires too much surroundings perception.

b/c if you've hit puberty your hips are wider than a males putting more stress on you acl and mcl (see the higher rate of knee injuries in woman's basketball than Menes) you will be injured if you play competitively, plus there aren't many women 6 foot 5 350 pounds and can bench press 500

I can't believe you're encouraging your "girlfriend" to play the most violent game on earth. Do you really want her to be smashed by boys that are literally twice her size? That's a horrible "boyfriend".

They should be allowed to, but I think that they already are in some areas and just can't keep up.

Guys are phyisically stronger and sturdier than girls. He is concerned that you may be hurt. Although his wording may have been a little extreme.
