i like elton johns songs, but i feel like he is just an old HAS-BEEN, trying to get back into the public eye.

I've been an Elton fan since the early 70s (I'm 45). He's been touring relentlessly, and is in his second year of a three-season contract playing Vegas (where the tickets are $125, $175 and $250 each!)-so he hasn't been out of the public eye since the new milennium started!
Accept the fact that tats etc. weren't as popular when he was really tearing it up and he can't relate. Enjoy what's popular now as YOUR time, and when you become middle-aged and something new and different shows up (guarantee ya it will) that ticks you off, remember that it's the next gen's time...

Probably the hundred of millions that's bought his albums over the course of the last four decades. (Probably a little before your time)

Elton doesn't have to get back into the lime-light. He's probably as close as one can come to an Elvis status as there is.

Evidently a lot of people care what he thinks, because he gets major press. He doesn't have to try to get back in the public eye, for some older fans, he never left!

I hate Elton's gay a$$ but he's right about American music...too many posers & tattoos and way too much rehashed music!
