Okay, navigne, I saw your variation of this the other night.
I am a little over 5'8", so I don't qualify for your stipulation of 6'0" unless I'm wearing my 5" dancing boots. LOL
Average height for a male is ~5'9". Men don't stop growing until ~25 years of age. Average height for a female is somewhere around 5'4" or 5'6".
Taking the above information into consideration, if I were a 6'0" tall woman, I would not tease you, jokingly or otherwise, for being shorter, considering you are taller than but within the range of normal, whereas I, as a 6'0" woman, would be outside the range of normal. I think that would be inviting retaliatory teasing.
Sounds to me like the lady is compensating for her own fears of ridicule regarding height.
All my aunts on my dad's side are 6'0" and none of their husbands were. I think the sweetest is my aunt Becky, who wore heels to work every day, and to most family gatherings, but every time someone pulled out a camera to take a photo of her and my uncle, she'd discreetly slip out of her shoes and snuggle/lean against him so he appeared much taller in every photo in family albums. She knew it was a concern of his and handled it in a very ladylike manner.

5"9 is pretty tall. It's not like I look down on you and immediately give you the cold shoulder because you're not as tall as me. Most people have manners, you know.

That is tall, the average height for a woman is 5'4. Your tall.
