I agree with you, a lot of people say a lot of things, and the reason they won't forgive him is because he's so famous. Like whenever someoone as popular as him does something wrong or makes a mistake, people begin nit-picking at it until it gets old.

The reason they wont let him go is simply that they want publicity.
They wouldn't do it if it wasn't profitable.
Having said so its only profitable because your average citizens are losers who shouldn't butt into other peoples lives.
Mel Gibson has the freedom of speech, whether right or wrong just like any other U.S. citizen.
But that doesn't mean he didn't get out of hand with more than his speech while he was drinking.
The bottom line is that people should just get over it.
He makes mistakes just like every other man.

Wouldnt you rather see mel Gibson in the spotlight, or Brad Pitt and the sleaze ball he's with along with Tom Cruise and his whatever, Kate. Its a bunch of gossip, . I agree, leave Mel alone, everybody has been in trouble in their life at one point or another. NO MAN IS PERFECT.

it's because the seriousness of what was said carries so much hatred within it that it can't be just let slide. the comparable statements about black or latino people would not be easily let go. if he had said "all you lazy blacks need to get off welfare and stop breeding like animals" , it would be just as offensive. or if he had said about latinos "you border jumping ,welfare stealing thieves need to go home" this also would be just as offensive . the truth is that jew, christian, muslim ,white ,black , brown or yellow has little to do with treating others with the respect you would expect for yourself.

I wanna know the same thing!!
I mean gosh it's not that big all he did was say some bad remarks cus he was drunk...Look at all the other ppl that were pulled over and probly did something worse...i don't see why the news is saying something about it every night...just drop it..Everything they say about him is just being repeated..it's done and over with they need to drop it..

Part of it is because Mel is a conservative. If Alex Baldwin had been caught DUI, you would hardly hear a word about it.
