First the top thread sews well but when I removed the fabric, thethread on the other side was all bunched and frayed so i hd to cut it away. I toyed with the tension dial and now the top ses kind of loose but the botton thread doesn't look right. What can i do? I

Since you never had problems with the tension before, I'd first of all put the dials back the way they were. Then, take apart as much as you can of the part under the needle (where the transport is) and really clean it out with a little brush - sounds like you may have fuzz / dust bunnies!

You can also put a couple of drops of oil there, but then please run some test stiching on an old piece of fabric to make sure you don't stain anything nice with any excess oil.

You can also take out the bottom thread and re-do it, maybe it was wound around the bobbin incorrectly (I've seen that before...)

Otherwise, try reading your manual and see if they give you tips - or check on the internet on forums for your specific model.

Good luck!!!
