9/11/06 was a terrible thing, but ultimately, our response
was worse.

If we had stopped at Afghanastan, we would have had
the support of the world behind trying to put better security
in place across the world. We had the moral high ground.

However, by panicking and following Bush in a pointless
rampage, we have lost the moral high ground, many of our
freedoms, and - in the war on terrorism - much ground.

I really don't think you can call it a war - because it will
never end - just as it didn't start 9/11, its been running at
some level or another forever.

As soon as Bush called it war, my immediate reaction was
"Ok when will it be over? Define peace".

If "peace" happens when we never have to worry about a
terrorist doing something similar, we will always be at war
and we have permanently given up our freedoms.

Ultimately, I think "peace" is when Bush says its peace.
The country has simply given up the privacies we had before,
forever with barely a whimper.

I hate to say this but 3000 people just isn't that many people
when you look at terrorist activity the world over. It is a
VERY small number when you consider the number of
people who die of, say, flu, every year.

We did not look at how we were reacting against the real
statistics of who was dying for what reason - instead we just
reacted with shock.

We will not be able to solve the "terrorist" problem: EVER!
We can make it better through a combination of military
and social programs, but we will never be safe.

We never were safe.

All I know is I was working as a secretary at a construction company in Virginia and a lady I worked with yelled to me -- OMG!!! I went running in her office and she said "a plane just went into one of the WTC towers" and at first I thought - wow - what a horrible accident that had to be and wondered how it could happen because it must have been engine problems or whatever. I went back to my desk and heard her scream again and she said "come here!" We were on line and watching it unfold. It was horrifying. People wanted to leave work - wives were freaking out. The boss was an A** saying people were "over reacting" but all he cared about was his business. People were SOOOO afraid. What got to me in between the chaos was watching on the computer when all of the jets were told to land --- that was unbelievable. There was a site and it showed white dots of every jet flying (would blow your mind) and as each one landed the dots would disappear from the screen. That was totally freaky. Horrible words I'm using here. Then the towers collapsed --- all I remember was tears at that point and "how, why?" Just NO SENSE whatsoever. I can't and will not be ready to watch a movie about it for a very very long time.

It's the day for our generation that was like Pearl Harbor for our previous generation....

I don't know....all I know, is I do know what I was wearing.....and I do remember standing outside in No. VA....looking into the sky....saying to my coworker....there's no f**king way this is actually happening....

Then I got home through the traffic jam...

And cried till I heard from my husbands parents that work at the State Department and the Pentagon. My MIL fortunately was in a temporary "out" building that only had their antenna clipped off and windows shattered by the plane....

When we rode out to my in laws at around 8 that night, I remember looking into the sky and saw nothing....but clouds, no jet trails, no distant planes....nothing....and I thought and said, this is the day in our history....remember it...

After 9/11 passed. I just got mad....

and here in 2006 I am still mad....I know most of the country is passive towards it....by I was right there....my husbands mother and father were right there.....my husband was driving down the beltway when the plane flew right on top of him heading towards their target.....the Pentagon....where his mother works...

9/11 will always be remembered with me....I will not ever even forget one second of what went on in my life that day.

i-need-help I am so sorry. I wish you well throughout your life. Now you have to contend with the critics. My view is that was the saddest day in American History. Many people was murdered that day. The horrors will never go away from some. I know there are others out there that would just love to entirely destroy this country and all of its people but we are of a better stock than that, we are Americans. We have a right to be proud of that. We live in the greatest country on earth.

Complete mind game. Predetermined outcome by modern day number crunching. Go along with the story = patriot Question what happened = traitor
True patriots are learning what happened on 9/11

For starters look at the video link, for those how can stomach it this is where most evidence is in a video.
