Find out what motivates them. Are they into books, cars, what?
When you find out their interest, try working it in somehow to what you need to teach.
My son has Autism, so I deal with issues like this everyday. You have to find their "price" so to speak. If it's cars that flip their switch, then maybe as a reward...showing a short film about cars, for example.

Both father and mother and lecturers. Perhaps additionally leisure. (Tv radio web) I taught for eleven years in Pittsburgh's internal town elemtary faculties earlier than I lower back to university. Parents and grandparents, uncles, cousins and lots of different loved ones individuals rather mess children up. I had a woman shot for the reason that her older household will have been worried in a gang having a warfare with a different gang. They shot correct by way of the door and partitions and killed this little blameless lady I've obvious potent and useless lecturers. I've obvious after we bought that Bill Gates cash that efficiency tests do not idscern accurately among well and dangerous lecturers. A well trainer was once more likely to get a nasty overview and a lemon a high-quality overview. So, what is the reply? Maybe I'll discover out by way of doing a PhD. Maybe now not. We've bought a few severe social disorders which are expounding on this nation, that is for definite.

I don't know what kind of teaching situation you're in, but if possible, perhaps you could find out what kinds of activities they enjoy and engage in those activities with them, teaching them words as the activity unfolds. This activity might not be in a classroom. If they're litle kids, they might enjoy walking through a toy store. Maybe they'd like to go to a sporting event.

Try to get they're attension with the things that they like. And give them a treat once in a while. That way they can learn and have fun at the same time. But don't forget to punish them once in a while.

Set some guidlines for them. Tell them what you expect....from them. Let them participate more.
Tell them that "lazy" has not yet been found in the dictionary!
Good luck, wish we had more teachers like you.
