The last one I saw was my 72' Chevelle convertible SS. It had a column shifter because it had a bench seat instead of buckets. This would have been a rare combination since GM literature includes bucket seats and a floor shifter as a component in the SS package. However GM obviously built a few like mine. It should be noted that my SS, being a 72, was not the muscle/performance car that earlier years were.

Yes. Back in 70 a friend traded in his 69 Chevelle for a 70 SS. It was green with black bench seat interior and column shift. You could order any combination back then. I had a 70 monte Carlo with bucket seats and column shift. My ex brother-in-law had a 70 SS with bench seat and 4 speed floor shifter.
