Robert Kiyosaki's advice in Rich Dad, Poor Dad may do more harm than good:
http://www.johntreed.com/Kiyosaki.html
Personally, I enjoyed reading the book but thought Kiyosaki's attitudes regarding life (especially with regards to education and business) were immature and not those of a successful individual.
More importantly, I think it was dishonest that the book was marketed as non-fiction:
1) Rich Dad didn't really exist as described in the book (they later added a disclaimer to the effect that the Rich Dad was based on numerous individuals Kiyosaki had known).
2) Robert Kiyosaki did not make his money as described in the book and there still is no proof that he is as rich or as financially talented as he says he is (as far as I can see, he made most of his money on the books themselves and used Amway's network to catapult the books to best seller status).
3) The book contains many inaccurate statements that have been since discounted by financial professionals and businessmen with verifiable assets/histories/education.
The book should have been marketed as fiction when it was first published. Then people could have enjoyed it for what it is rather than view it as actual advice useful in the real world.
All in all, I would not recommend Kiyosaki's book.

Good ideas, but unrealistic in the case of most debt ridden people.

uninformative. I come from a comfortable family and that book has no "secrets" for the lower classes.
