anywho.com won't work with cell numbers and the few cell directories out there only work if the person who owns the number registered with them.

subscriber information is not available to the public so you can't contact a cell company and request it. It's takes a subpoena to get that info from a cell company.

Your only option is to call the number and ask or show the number to people you know and ask if they recognize it.

reverse phone number search compiles hundreds of millions of phone book records to help locate the owner's name, location, time zone, email and other public information.

Use a reverse phone lookup to:
Get the identity of an unknown caller.
Identify an area code.
Recall the name of a person whose number you wrote down.
Identify an unfamiliar phone number that shows up on your bill.

I have had that happen many times. Go on to www.anywho.com and on one of the top tabs there is a tab called "reverse lookup", click on it. It allows you to type in the phone number and tells you who it is, and from where.
Pretty cool and good luck:)!!
