I have seen numerous questions on this site asked by white people that ask why are black people always quick to claim racism, and why do we always have to bring it up. Did it occur to you that MAYBE, just MAYBE racism DOES STILL EXIST?and maybe you dont experience it because you're white? Just because something hasn't happened to you or you didnt perceive it that way doesnt mean that it doesn't happen. Thats like saying just because you haven't been robbed, you don't believe that there are theives in the world. That makes NO SENSE! Yes, some people are overly sensitive and do interpret situations wrong, but racism does still happen. And sometimes you can only understand that if you have grown up in a minority group that has been and continues to be discrimin8d against. Now racism isn't open and blatant like it used to be, and I dont believe that it happens very often, but it does happen and you have to be able to admit that there are things that u dont understand becuz u havnt lived it

Because generally white people have not experienced the abhorent racism of some other races. In history it was white people that were the main instigators of racism in America and England and although it is no where near as bad as it was, racism still exists and probably always will. Because people are different whether in colour, religion and even gender there are always those ignorant bleeps who have nothing better to do than to make judgements. I am a white woman and I have been judged for this alone. I have been called a prostitute by some Muslim men for showing my arms, legs, hair and face in public. I view this as racism as they are saying that all white girls are easy. They do not know every white girl in the world!

Racism still exists in every race although some black people and some asian people have told me that white people are not victims of racism. I accept that generally black people and asian people have been ridiculed more than white people but it still happens. The bottom line is racism is wrong and everyone of every race should work together in harmony to put an end to it once and for all!!

Racism does still exist. Unfortunately, there are many groups out there who have not been affected by racism per say but for groups, such as African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, they know all too well that racism is a major issue today. Be realistic, we all know that many people look at minorities in a different way because we may live and act differently from other groups. I have never experienced racism myself but I have witnessed racist acts. I pray that one day we can all really get over our differences and just accept that we will always live together. We should just make the best of it and accept everyone.

Yes, of course racism still exists. But why !? I wish that people could celebrate their heritage, and have an understanding of others. I think the question of racism is super complicated but I also think dwelling on it does not help the matter. Then again, I also understand that so much harm has been caused by racism that of course the matter cannot be ignored.

I think people need to stop focussing on "race" and whether a person is black or white or brown or whatever, and just regard each person for all the good he or she can contribute as an individual.

Culture needs to be appreciated and sustained, and part of this includes an appreciation for cultures other than one's own.

I know racism still exsists and im against it but I think not only do white people treat black people bad but black people treat white people bad too. Everyone is equal but just have diffrent cultures. Some people in America think that black people are drug dealers and get pregnant all the time and have like 5 kids and no daddy but it can happen with a white person too. Some black people think that white people are stuck up rich biotches that get everything they want. But I think there is a reason though some whit people think black people shoulve never went free but black people are allowed to call each other ****** which shouldnt be said no matter who you are and if a white person and a black person got in a fight and the black kid really did start it first thing some people would say is Its cuz im black aint it but its not cuz your black But thats just how I see it I live in a mostly black town but dont encounter problems from just black people its white people to and today kids are raised diffrent and dont respect others so people automatically think they act like black people when they actually act how there parents raised them

I'm fully aware that racism exists. I live in a small Southern town and am VERY aware of it here. It's a shame that it still exists but unfortunately as long as there is ignorance there will be racism. I'm sorry that you have to deal with this. Not all white people feel racism towards the African American population.

I'm white, a little past middle age, and live in a small town in the midwest. Unfortunately, racism does exist. It's quite common in many parts of this country, just not as high profile as it once was.

It is probably responsible for higher unemployment for blacks than whites, and below average income for blacks. Most black people have been denied opportunities, jobs, education, and a fair chance to prove themselves for most of their lives. Why wouldn't they be overly sensitive?
Anyone that says racism doesn't exist is either lying or lives a very sheltered life.

Like you said, some do not experience/witness it. Because of that, they feel that is doesn't exist. Every once and a while I experience it myself; it feels horrible. Some asked, why don't African Americans let go of the past? You can't, that is like asking a Jewish person the same thing about the Holocaust. Then again, some (not all) white people are racist and feel the need to remind African Americans about the past.

We believe racism still exist, we experience it everyday when we go out for a job or try to enter a college because of affirmative action. We experience it when we turn on the tv and hear every racial insult towards whites on various programs
