Israel has already lost because it's strategy strenghtened extremist sentiment in the Mid East and it will now have to cope with a new wave of extremists who will use the Lebanon war as an excuse for action. Had Israel simply gone in and taken out Hezbollah targets from the beginning, they would have been supported by a great part of the international community, including most Arabs and Lebanese. Instead, they decided to target infrastructure first. How do you destroy the airport, bridges, roads, electric plants, etc., and wait until days later before you target Hezbollah's headquarters? That's insanely stupid and implies that Lebanon was Israel's target, not Hezbollah.
It is a lot easier for Hezbollah to reach its objective in this war, survival, than it is for Israel to accomplish Hezbollah's destruction. That being considered, Hezbollah's survival thus far has made them more effective than all of the Arab states that fought Israel and lost in 6 days. Therefore, on the Arab street, they are the winners.
Israel in the mean time failed to come up with a proper formula for destroying Hezbollah. Their tactics were and remain absolutely absurd. How do you destroy a group by targetting their opposition? For those who missed it reading the news, the Lebanese government and the greater majority of Lebanese have wanted Hezbollah disarmed for years but could not do it with Syria and Iran supporting them. All the Lebanese government got were words of support from the West, but never any actual backup the way Hezbollah received from its allies. In reality, Hezbollah was far better armed than the Lebanese military. Had the Lebanese government taken the chance of trying to disarm them, there would have been another civil war. People on this site should read up on their history before commenting on Mid East issues. Unlike Israel which has the luxury of having one religion (sans the Arab minority), Lebanon is made up of 18 officially recognized religious sects that must be represented in government. The complications that ensue are vast. The fact that Lebanon has survived so long is amazing.
Another Israeli failure in strategy: how do you eliminate a guerilla group by destroying a country's infrastructure? Who's the genius who forgot that guerilla groups thrive on a lack of infrastructure? By destroying the infrastructure, they only hurt the government and the civilians. Hezbollah was completely unaffected.
I would love to see Hezbollah's militia eliminated, disarmed, etc. But the fact is, all Israel has managed to do is make them stronger. Hezbollah rose out of the ashes of Israel's 82 invasion, which was notoriously brutal. Read Thomas Friedman's from Beirut to Jerusalem. If they are destroyed now, what will rise out of the 2006 invasion? Surely something far worse...
The fact is, Hezbollah will survive, Israel will survive and civilians on both sides are the ones defeated. Humanity as a whole is getting affected and it is becoming more and more difficult to know who is on the side of right since tactics on both sides are brutal and inhumane. It's the butterfly effect; a butterfly flapping its wings in China causes a thunderstorm in New York... Close your windows before the storm pours in.

no one will ever win hezbollah doesnt have the manpower to eliminate israel and hezbollah is designed to escape israeli forces. but the people who will lose are innocent civillians on both sides and i place the blame for that solely on hezbollah its their tactics that are getting they're own people killed.

no one will win unfortunately this is a no win situation. what the outcome will be i can guess there will be a lot of talking back and forth and then they will create some kind of border patrol and that will last a little while until both sides regroup and rearm and start over again now i ask you what is the solution to their problem? i know the answer but i would not dare to say it would you? if you express your opinion it will be taken out of text and we will be cursed and threatened and so on so it is better to keep your thoughts to yourself and let those involved work it out as long as we do noit partake in any of it period we must be bystanders in this hateful hellish situation.
