Many people have suggested that we should allow warring factions to just kill themselves off. Sadly though, in most conflicts, it is the innocent who pay the cost!
We, as guests on this planet, have a responsibility to look after it, so that future generations can appreciate the wonders that God created for us. With any conflict, it isn’t just a case of man killing man… with each exploding bomb, there is the damage to our planet that should be taken into consideration. Has anyone ever taken the time to consider what harm is done to nature? Do we ever count the number of animals that have been killed, as being casualties of war? Do we ever look at the holes in the ground that remain after bombs have been dropped, and shed a tear for the damage we’ve done to our planet? Nature truly is a casualty of war, and when we consider our future on this planet, it is perhaps the most costly!

Unfortunately, you are sadly correct. However, the innocent lives lost are more than just that of the environment and of animals (both important however in my eyes). Innocent children and adults are also killed.
BTW, August 8th is the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. Please see this video explaining why the U.S. should dump its nuclear armaments: http://www.truemajority.org/bensbbs/

Listen, if you cater to biblical teachings (which I do), the Earth was created for Man's consumption. It's there in black and white (or whatever color your Bible happens to be in).
Now, our Maker knew we weren't the brightest bulbs in the bunch when we went snooping around the Tree of Knowledge and basically got ourselves banished from the CUSHIEST existence known in the Universe...Eden. To top that off, we screwed up even more and had the Big Guy flood the whole planet! Talk about reducing the gene pool.
If you subscribe to a paleontological dogma of the Big Bang and various tectonic plates cavorting with one another over billions of years, NATURE itself has really screwed up this planet on its own, several times (ask the pre Ice Age mammals...oh no wait...you can't).
Between temperature fluctuation and volcanic activity and land mass reconfigurations, this planet has been through a lot (research the physical effects on the globe of the Indonesian earthquake/tsunami of Dec 2004, or the recent violent widening of the Red Sea!).
As for animals, or holes in the ground, look, both the Earth and its NON HUMAN inhabitants are pretty resilient. No one really talks about the mass of new species found or created every day (or the historical heat waves and ice ages that we never really new about b/c we didn't have the technology to know). What the Lebanese countryside is experiencing is a fireworks show compared to what the Allied forces did to Berlin, Hiroshima and Nagasaki or what the Russians did to their own cities as Hitler's forces plowed through in the early 40's.
The future of the planet does rest, somewhat, in Man's hands. Nuclear weapons, in the hands of nut jobs like Iran, N. Korea, Chechens or their proxies, not a good thing. Not investing in asteroid or comet deterrence technology, not a good thing. Not going green with energy as soon as possible, not a good thing. But have no doubt, the Earth is a resilient little piece of rock. And she'll be here long after we are. So don't worry so much about squirrels and sycamores. Do worry about the innocents who, despite knowing better, allow evil forces to oppress them and manage their affairs for them. We all can do something to make the world better, including those who support terrorism and think it's a just reward for those who wish to instill democracy and free markets, press and society across the span of this great globe.

I see the incorrect information gadget is going complete steam. i'm happy the human beings who imagine u.s. can get away with being the bully continuously are in complete swing nonetheless. sometime the piper will come due and also you'll want you surely idea about something else of the international as human beings as a change of your playthings. At this aspect, there is no 'dignified' way out of a warfare which could in no way were faught and is in easy words making our acceptance worse and generating a techniques better those who hate individuals. in easy words way I see any dignity OR recognize popping out of this can be the trial of the U. S. leaders [no longer attainable] and an no longer attainable quantity of reparations made. very few individuals had an instantaneous involvment in beginning this warfare, and those similar few look the in easy words ones making a take advantage of it. I do see Ron Paul because the in easy words chief keen to say sufficient is sufficient, we had no precise to do what we did and fairly than only save doing it, get out [perhaps from the total international]. after we are now no longer on thier soil, lets surely get some recognize decrease back. they are going to nonetheless hate us, and could continuously concern us yet they probably gained't anger us again, because we are the most irrational ability in the international, and we do have the biggest guns.

The Muslims will not let this rest. Their drive to fulfill the Ummah requires us to put an end to their religion/government, and the sooner the better.
Until we are finished with the Ummah, and those trying to make it come to pass, we are going to have to approach these other problems as they arise. We won't be able to do any long term planning until we have dealt with the mandate of the Ummah.
Thanks to the World Wise Web and the Internet the end of the government/religion will come quicker now. We will be neglectful if we delay our response to the attempt to put the World under one Islamic flag.
I don't ascribe to the Christian teachings that the world is made for our consumption, but when people other than the Christian want to consume it or live in it they are wrong. That's duplicitous too.
Oh, and I wasn't born to your Christian God anymore than I was born to the Islamic god. So, why don't you two fight it out, and leave me alone. Oh, that's right your God/god mandates won't let you. You prove my point that you're duplicitous butt-holes. You are both destined for the dust bins of History.
