I've always had an open mind about food so my mother didn't have to force me to eat anything. The only food I can say I don't like is liver, I don't like the flavor but I try it twice a year to see if my taste has changed.

Mine's liver, too. I used to hide it under lots of mashed potato and fried onion (trying to hide the taste). Now, I don't dare make it - I love it too much and could eat it until I got sick and it's bad for the cholesterol - Dr.'s orders.

My mom never made us eat anything we didn't like. In fact she would make us something special if we didn't like what she was cooking. I guess that's why I'm a picky eater to this day.

I'm afraid it had a contrary effect on me. Onions! I just didn't like them as a kid. Now I simply hate them. It's a psychological negative effect.

Yellow squash...I think I just didn't like the way she cooked it. Now I've tasted it twice this year from two different places and it was great!
