has this year anyone noticed the lack of butterflies, only lots of moths, so whys that?

hi, yep lots of moths about, a huge one the other night at work! We`ve had a few butterflies in the garden but not as much as usual, hadn`t noticed until you said, I`ve got no idea why! Remember the ladybirds in the late 70s??

we've had lots of butterflies in our garden this year, but you are right there seems to be more moths!! over the past few hot nights we have kept a window open and the other night I counted 15 in our living room!!! I have no idea why this is, so will be watching to find out if anyone has an answer to this one

Lots of butterflies here in Guernsey especially round our buddleias. Someone on the radio the other day said there were a lot of species not normally found here this year. We get a lot of butterflies migrating from the continent. Makes you wonder how they can store enough energy to fly so far?

Have you not been camping We haave had several butterflys in our tent. We have released to the open. I think the weather has affected all life in this country

Don't know where u live. I live in Ct. and I've seen more butterflies and dragonflies than I've seen in years.
