how do i know if im connected to the internet?

we have 2 computers in the house.my roommate has the modem in his room.we are connected by a router.

Go to control panel,click on network connections.Right click on your internet or wireless connection.Select properties,check the box marked "show icon in notification area when connected".

Well, the easiest way is to open Internet Explorer and, if nothing comes up, you aren't connected.

did you log on to answers site through Yahoo? Then i guess that answers that question!
