Every force has an opposite and equal force. In a centrifuge the spinning creates centrifugual and centripetal force. The tubes that are being spun down are held by the machine. This force is centripetal or center pulling. The heavier material in the tubes goes to the bottom and is separated by centifugal or outward pulling force.
