Moment of Truth can mean different things.

To a salesman, the moment of truth is when you've completed your sales pitch and are trying to close the deal.

In a customer support role, the moment of truth is when you have to deal with a dissatisfied customer and must find a way to make them happy.

To a manager, this could be having to let go an underperforming employee, making a major decision such as changing a policy, or any number of other things.

In terms of customer service the moment of truth comes at the exact moment I figure out if your widget is worth what I paid for it and does or doesn't do the job I need it to do.

Like with my shovel I bought from Sears. It was just five dollars. Great deal? Not really. It broke the first time I really tested it. The moment of truth happened when the handle snapped.
