Nope. Not at all, all of the female parts are completely removed, including the ones responsible for periods. Female to male transsexuals are almost as male as natural born men. The only thing that I noticed that could be different is the penis. It looks a little weird, and in order to get an erection it needs to be pumped up (serious.) They usually disguise the pump as one of the testes.

I am left speechless at some of the answers here. As an FTM myself (female to male transsexual), the definitive answer is:

No, there are no more of those horrible horrible things called periods--even if you do not get surgery. That stops immediately after taking your first shot of testosterone (but for some may take a month or two to stop completely, I'm told).

This is the best reason to become a man (Hahaha).

But seriously, for those that "think it's dumb"..It's not really a choice. The choice is pretend to be someone you're not your whole life and be miserable, or learn to be yourself no matter how hard the road is--it will eventually bring rewards. Eight years later... I'm engaged to a beautiful woman and I'm happier than I've ever been.

BY THE WAY... Those pump things aren't really done anymore...there are so many wonderful procedures that were not available even five years ago...the technology will only get better in the future... So no more frankenweiners!!! Search FTM surgery pics and you might be surprised.

AND LASTLY... In the near future it will be found that there is not just XY and XX but a range of chromosome possibilities. There is already research that proves that a transgendered person's brain is likely to be similar to the brain of the preferred sex. Anyone who says "you are a man" or "you are a woman" when they are not in your head is speaking from ignorance.

If you still had your female part, then yes. If you got a 'full' sex change and changed your private part, I am not sure!! I think you might because although you don't look like a women you still are, and you always will be. But then at the same time, your damaging your private part, so I really don't know!!!!

You wouldn't have to live with that anymore. They clean all your female parts out and put in male parts plus give you testosterone which would stop them even if you could have them.

I doubt it, I think they take the overies out, but I may be wrong. But I think it's stupid to get a sex change. I just had to let you know how I thought. But it's an interesting question.
